Former Lebanese Minister: Resistance Is a Way of Life, Surrender Has No Place in Lebanon

A former Lebanese minister has stressed that surrender has no place in the vocabulary of the resistance, describing resistance as a culture of life and a path of dignity and honor for Lebanon.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a ceremony marking the second anniversary of the martyrdom of resistance fighter Hassan Moussa Dika, known as Osama, Mustafa Bayram said that Lebanon’s resistance, together with its people, has demonstrated the highest levels of human and national responsibility in standing by the oppressed, despite what he described as the presence of compromisers and conspirators.

The ceremony was held at the Husayniyya of the village of Hazin and was attended by Abbas Mazloum, head of Hezbollah’s eighth sector, along with municipal officials, social and cultural figures, religious scholars, families of martyrs, and local residents.

Resistance as the Source of Sovereignty and Dignity

Bayram emphasized that Lebanon’s sovereignty, dignity, and standing are the direct result of the sacrifices of the resistance and the blood of its martyrs. He said that resistance is neither a pastime nor a temporary or tactical choice, but rather a deeply rooted culture and a permanent path toward honor and national dignity.

“If there were no resistance,” he said, “Lebanon would have neither weight nor credibility.”

He added that despite the enemy’s campaign of killing, destruction, and massacres in the early stages of the war, it failed to break the will of the resistance. On the contrary, he noted, the resistance emerged more cohesive, resilient, and firmly rooted.

No Place for Surrender

Stressing that the actions of the resistance are guided by awareness, strength, and responsibility—rather than recklessness—Bayram firmly declared that surrender has no place in the resistance’s dictionary.

He also pointed to the readiness of the resistance to cooperate with the Lebanese government in order to safeguard national sovereignty and secure the return of prisoners. According to Bayram, the arrival of foreign envoys and delegations in Lebanon reflects the strength of the resistance and its influential role in shaping political and security realities.

Ceremony Details

The commemoration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the screening of a documentary highlighting the life and jihadi path of the martyred fighter. In a symbolic gesture, the martyr’s children presented a plaque of appreciation to Mustafa Bayrom.

The ceremony concluded with a mourning assembly for Imam Hussein (PBUH), led by Sheikh Bassem Farhat, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to the path of resistance and the legacy of the martyrs.
